The Russian military could be reinforced with a with a new robot humanoid battle tank called “The Specialist”.
The vehicle will move on tank tracks, but sitting atop its bulk is a humanoid torso, with arms and hands, and a head with two cameras for eyes.
Putin’s latest military creation sounds erieely similar to the “Hunter Killer” tank which roams the futuristic wastelands in The Terminator franchise.
Revolutionary plans for the 1.8 ton tank were unveiled by the Defense Ministry’s Central Scientific-Research Test Centre for Robotics.
The Specialist is 5 metres long, two metres tall and has a 360 degree field of view, reports Sputnik.
It is all terrain and is reportedly undergoing secret tests in the depths of Southern Russian.
Russia is already developing a robotic tank called the Uran-9, and at its launch Boris Simakin, head of Rosoboronexport, said: Russian developers “possess all of the required competencies to create modern military robotics”.
The robot tank is designed to be a support vehicle used for defusing unexploded mines, performing repairs on larger vehicles, and even carrying the wounded from the battlefield.
Acting like a giant medic, reportedly the tank can measure a soldier’s temperature, blood pressure and pulse and then feed the data back to commanders who will decide whether the trooper is fit to fight.
A Defense ministry spokesman said: “It has successfully passed a series of field tests at an ordnance range in southern Russia, and is already being used there in life-threatening situations.”
Across the world nations are developing new futuristic weapons as they prepare for looming global conflict.
Russia is already one of the leading minds with specialist robotic tanks with plans to turn one of their ultimate weapons the world-beating T-14 Armata into a fully autonomous drone.
Daily Star Online already revealed Russia is one of the world’s mighty “top trumps” with hordes of soldiers and thousands of tanks primed for war.
Russia seems to be preparing for war as defence chiefs in the nation revealed a network of bunkers beneath Moscow and urged their people to prepare for World War 3.
A new Iron Curtain has fallen in the Middle East as the US has cut contact with Putin over the worsening crisis in the region – with the two superpowers increasingly waging a proxy war.
Putin has also ordered 40 million Russians to prepare for a defence drill which will prep them in how to deal with a nuclear attack.
