Men and women are being abducted by ISIL and sold for a price. There is even a market for such transactions. Negotiations are possible with abductors. However, abductors require ransom money but this is not a guarantee that the hostages would be released.
Abductees are being held underground in Anbar province in western Iraq. The price for the release of Iraqi prisoners costs up to $120,000 in cash.
Ransom money is delivered always by a woman and the sum is arranged in advance. If some condition of arrangement is not fulfilled, the ISIL members will execute the prisoner. This is something that happens regularly on a daily basis.
The imprisonment of innocent men and women is conducted by Diwan Al-Hizb, which is considered a type of sharia court.
Women are faced with a terrible fate. Women are sold as sex slaves and not many negotiators are willing to risk their lives to save them. Women are imprisoned in the most dangerous parts on border of Iraq and Syria.
The prices of ransom vary from $4,000 to $7,000. If negotiation is done directly with the ISIL commander, the price for a woman and her children can go up to $30,000.
Even if negotiator is willing to pay the required sum of money, there is no guarantee that the hostage will be released.
People in Anbar province are actually paying for their freedom and their lives. If they wish to leave the territory they simply have to pay large sums of money to the militants.
