One of China’s new missiles is considered to be one the of most potent long-range nuclear missiles. Intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) was successfully tested.
So far, this is the fourth flight test of China’s DF-41 road-mobile ICBM.
Based on the number of these tests, it can be concluded that the missile is near its deployment.
Bill Gertz said that China shot two independently targetable warheads from the DF-41 in this last test. According to reports, DF-41 will hold multiple independently targetable reentry vehicles, which are known as MIRV and considered to be one of the most dangerous nuclear weapons developments.
Such missile has the ability to carry payloads of several nuclear warheads. Each one of these can be directed at a different set of targets.
The most dangerous ability of MIRVs is that they can wipe out adversary’s nuclear arsenals in a surprise first strike.
As China has obtained MIRV technology, this might force India to increase the size of its nuclear arsenal with the purpose of preventing China to conduct a successful decapitation strike.
Russia might lose its nuclear advantage over potential adversaries like China, because of this weapon.
It is believed that DF-41 will have the capacity of carrying up to 10 nuclear warheads. This means that China has to increase the number of its nuclear arsenal.
