Microwaves were initially used during the World War II for the purpose of tracking Nazi warplanes on their mission to bomb the British Isles.
Afterwards, Percy LeBaron Spencer discovered that a radar waves melted a candy bar in his pocket which led him to believe that microwaves can cook food.
Even though microwave ovens are quite handy in everyday life, they are harmful to our health. Even the frequency of 10 hertz is harmful to your body and the microwave oven uses frequency of 2.45 billion hertz. The risk is even increased if the microwave door starts to leak.
Because of this, you should not be standing near the microwave oven while it operates. Electromagnetic field can cause a lot of damage to human body.
Exposure of EMF should be limited to .5mG – 2.5mG as suggested by EPA. In other words, if you stand 4 inches from operating microwave, you will be exposed to 100 – 500mG. If you stand 3 feet away from the operating microwave, you will be exposed to 1 – 25mG.
The following happens to your food during the microwave heating process:
- food loses its nutrients
- molecules and chemicals are broken during the process
- microwave radiation creates dangerous radioactive compounds in the food
- structure of infant formula is changed
- breast milk looses 96% of its antibodies
A study conducted in 1992 also revealed that patients who consumed microwaved food had lower levels of white blood cells and hemoglobin, higher levels of leukocyte which is an indication of poisoning and cell damage and higher cholesterol levels.
On top of all this, microwave is also responsible for weakened immune system, inability of the immune system to fight viral and bacterial infections, birth defects, cataracts, cancer and other illnesses.
It is up to you to decide whether you should continue to use the microwave oven or not.
