Reduce pain, cholesterol and high blood sugar with ginger ale

Ginger is known for its ability to reduce muscle and back pain. It also works as an anti-inflammatory agent because it has high content of natural compounds called gingerols. After many studies, it has been concluded that pain caused by degenerative or rheumatoid arthritis and chronic muscle pain can be relieved by using ginger.

Ginger ale can be made at home using this easy recipe.

You will need the following ingredients:

  • 1 cup (200g) peeled, finely chopped ginger
  • 2 cups (450ml) purified water
  • 1 cup (225g) sugar
  • 1/2 cup (115ml) club soda (per glass)
  • A few drops of lime juice
  • Lime slices (for garnish)

First, boil 2 cups of water in a pot. Prepare ginger and add it into boiled water. Leave ginger to simmer for 5 minutes on a medium-low heat. Turn off the heat, remove it and leave for 20 minutes. Pour the liquid through a fine mesh strainer to remove pieces of ginger. Take another pan to make syrup. Boil one cup of water and add sugar and stir until it is dissolved. Combine half a cup of sugar with 1/3 cup of the simple syrup and half a cup of club soda. If you want to sweeten it more, add some honey.

Ginger ale is used to relieve indigestion and nausea, reduces bad cholesterol and high blood sugar, soothes cough and respiratory conditions, fever, cold and flu. It is also good for blood circulation and cancer prevention.
