Heart attack can be predicted based on a hair sample

heart attack

Canadian scientists conducted a research on stress levels and the impact of stress on the cardiovascular health. They came to very interesting results.

Based on this research, it appears that cortisol level in hair serves as an indication of an upcoming heart attack.

Scientists discovered a biological marker which can be used to determine whether a heart attack is going to happen and when.

As the hair grows approximately one centimeter a month, this can be used to determine the level of stress over a longer period, as well as to determine whether the risk of cardiovascular disease is increased.

This conclusion was made on the basis of 56 hair samples. These samples were obtained from people who experienced a heart attack. Afterwards, these were compared to samples of those who did not have a heart attack.
