Pubic hair removal can seriously affect your health. Women across the world remove their pubic hair by shaving or waxing without considering serious consequences of it.
According to the study published in the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, about 87% women removed all or some of their pubic hair, while 90% shaved it off using a razor.
As the skin in the genital area is more sensitive than anywhere else on the body, it is more prone to injuries and tiny cuts. In addition to this, 60% women stated that they experienced abrasions and ingrown hairs.
These side effects of pubic hair removal might seem harmless, but in reality they are not. Bacterial proliferation can easily develop on the skin around the pubic area. Additionally, cuts and scrapes made by shaving or waxing increase the risk of sexually transmitted diseases such as herpes and HPV.
