Often, if we don’t have domestically laid eggs, we cannot tell how old the eggs from the store are.
Some people say that the egg is old if its egg white becomes watery or it changes its smell, but we cannot know that until we break it.
Now you can determine the freshness of an egg using very simple steps.
You are going to need a transparent glass bowl and water.
Absolutely fresh egg
If you put an egg into a bowl filled with water and it sinks to the bottom of the bowl immediately, like a rock, this means the egg is absolutely fresh.
One week old egg
If you put an egg into the water and it sinks, but one of its sides is slightly lifted from the bottom of the bowl, this means the egg is one week old.
Three weeks old egg
If you put an egg into the water and it is slowly rising from the bottom of the bowl, that egg is three weeks old.
If you put an egg into the water and it stays on the surface of the water, that egg is old and it is better not use it.
