Scientists have discovered that if you add a few drops of milk into your tea, you will achieve better effects than any other whitening toothpaste.
According to a research published in the magazine “International Journal of Dental Hygiene”, adding milk in your tea can help you whiten your teeth, and scientists claim that milk is more effective than whitening toothpaste.
Milk contains the protein casein which binds to the tannins that cause dark spots on the teeth and prevents staining.
Dr. Ava Chow, an assistant professor in the University of Alberta’s School of Dentistry, notes that adding milk in a tea is a culture-specific phenomenon and that this findings won’t convince some people to start preparing their tea with milk.
Even though it sounds weird at first, you should try this. Drinking tea can have a negative effect on your teeth because tannin in tea leaves stains on your teeth. Therefore, if you want to avoid this, you should give it a try.
