Toenail fungus is caused by the fact that our feet are closed in shoes for a long period of time. Then, moisture and warmth create ideal conditions for the development of fungus.
The first signs of a fungal infection appear in the form of white or yellow spots on your nail’s tip. Further infection leads to cracking, darkening or nail thickening. Nails can even separate from the nail bed. The bad news is that fungal infection may return even after being treated.
In order to fight nail fungus, you should use the following natural recipe.
The following ingredients are needed:
- one tablespoon of tea tree oil,
- half a tablespoon of orange oil,
- half a tablespoon of grape seed or olive oil
- and cotton balls.
When you have all ingredients, mix them together and stir thoroughly. Soak a cotton ball in this healing mixture and then drip the oil onto the infected nail. The solution has to dry on the nail.
You can mix a few drops of this solution with water and soak your feet in it for twenty minutes. Do this two times a day.
You can also use a recipe with vinegar and baking soda.
You will need:
- five tablespoons of baking soda,
- one cup of vinegar (you can choose between white of apple cider),
- and a big bowl.
Soak your feet in the mixture of water and vinegar for 15 minutes. Dry your feet with a towel. Put baking soda into the water with vinegar and soak your feet for another 15 minutes. Vinegar serves to kill the fungus and baking soda will stop the growth of new fungus.
You can also fight fungus infection by rubbing coconut oil on nails twice a day.
