Some of the food we eat every day is associated with high cancer rates. It’s not the food itself that is carcinogenic, but the way it has been processed makes it carcinogenic.
You should avoid food from the following list in order to lower the chances of developing cancer and other serious diseases.
Popcorn made in the microwave – Those microwave popcorn packets contain erfluorooctanoic acid, a harmful toxin that is usually found in Teflon.
This acid is harmful to fertility, and increases chances of kidney, bladder, testicular, pancreas and liver cancer. They also contain other chemicals and other GMO products.
Canned tomatoes – A synthetic chemical that was recognized as being harmful, even by the FDA, can be found in canned tomatoes.
It is known as BPA and it is linked with cancer and children are most vulnerable because it can cause delayed development and other problems.
Processed meats – Food with sodium nitrates should be avoided. This kind of food includes hot dogs, bacon, meats and sausages. It was proven by one scientific study that the chances of premature death are increased by 40% if about 160 g of processed meats is consumed in a short period of time.
White flour – As mills use chlorine to accelerate the whitening process, people should avoid using white flour. This is in addition to all other processing methods. The risks of using white flour include increased blood sugar levels and insulin levels, which ultimately lead to diabetes.
Chemically processed oils – Hydrogenated oils are chemically processed vegetable oils. Due to this process, oils have lost their good ingredients and developed bad ingredients. Some of those are unstable omega-6 fatty acids, which convert to trans fats when exposed to heat and these can result in skin cancer and heart diseases. Peanut butter is an example of processed products.
Deep fried or baked potato chips – Potato chips are full of calories, trans fat, excessive sodium levels and have more than one type of carcinogens. Artificial and synthetic colors, flavors and preservatives are the most harmful. During the frying process, potato chips activate toxin acrylamide, which is also found in cigarettes.
Soda – Sodas are responsible for weight gain as they contain incredibly high amounts of corn syrup and sugar. Soda contains artificial colors and chemicals like 4-methylimidazole, which are carcinogenic. Chances of stroke are increased multiple times if you drink more than one soda per day. Another ingredient, sodium benzoate, is known to reduce the oxygen transfer in our cells and lead to many health problems.
Farmed fish – Farm-raised salmon is dangerous because of pesticides, chemicals, antibiotics and other carcinogenic substances. Their pink color is caused by chemical reactions in their body. Abnormal levels of mercury have been confirmed in farm-raised salmon by a recent study.
Refined sugar – This type of sugar enhances insulin levels and contributes to cancer development. Cancer cells feed from sugar, grow and multiply. Cereals, cookies, cakes, pies, sodas and other food contain refined or processed sugar.
Alcohol – American scientists have conducted a study and confirmed that more than 200.000 postmenopausal women who had one drink daily had more than 30% chances of developing breast cancer in contrast to those who didn’t. Overuse of alcohol causes cancer, stroke, heart failure, liver failure and sudden death.
