Numerous weapons are being used on the Syrian battlefield. According to latest reports, Russia is accused of using a powerful weapon of mass destruction.
The nightmarish weapons of mass destruction are alleged to have been used by the Russians in their bid to liquidate Syrian rebels, according to reports.
Extraordinary video seen by Daily Star Online shows all the hallmarks of fuel-air bomb which sucks in oxygen and ignites air to create an explosion equal to a small nuclear bomb.
Footage shows an intensely bright flash near a city followed by flaming mushroom cloud which bears eerie similarities to a nuclear bomb blast.
If victims survive being squished or suffocated they face being barbecued alive as air ignites into flames as hot as a nuclear explosion.
A blast wave travelling 10,000 feet per second flattens any survivors with an 100 yard radius.
This is a thermobaric explosion.
And this spooky and utterly devastating manmade phenomenon could even seen as near to home as the Ukraine or the Baltic states should growing tensions between NATO and Russia boil over into full scale war.
Thermobaric tipped missiles are fired from Russian rocket launchers – dubbed the “Blazing Sun” – which have been spotted in Syria, according to The Sunday Times.
The fuel-air explosive it fires detonates the very air itself.
Defence experts National Interest say an explosive inside a missile sprays a chemical cloud in the air.
This seeps effortlessly into buildings.
A second explosion ignites the aerosol cloud, causing a massive and long-lasting explosion.
Unusually huge explosions have been reported and filmed in areas held by Syrian rebels since the summer.
Today the UN special envoy on Syria, Staffan de Mistura, said Russia’s bombings had unleashed “unprecedented military violence”, killing hundreds of civilians, many of them women and children.
He said there had been reports of the bombs creating “fireballs of such intensity that they light up the pitch darkness in Aleppo as if it were daylight”.
His intervention prompted fresh recriminations between Russia and the United States with US ambassador Samantha Power accusing Moscow of “barbarism”.
She urged security council members to “have the courage to say who is responsible for this and in a single voice tell Russia to stop”.
Yesterday Britain accused Russia of carrying out “war crimes” in Syria as world powers ganged up on Moscow at a meetings of the UN Security Council in recent memory.
But Russian ambassador Vitaly Churkin insisted its air strikes were aimed at “terrorists” who were holding 200,000 people prisoner in the city.
“They are trying to use women and children as a human shield,” he said.
Russia’s thermobaric weapons bare similarities to “fuel-air bombs” which were used to smoke out the fleeing Taliban out of caves in Afghanistan after they were toppled in 2001.
The bombs were dropped at the entrance to the caves.
This suck air out of the lungs of the fugitive Taliban government which was overthrown after the US accused them of hiding Osama Bin Laden who masterminded the 9/11 attacks.
The horrifically destructive bombs were also used by the Russians during the 1994 to 1996 war in Chechnya and were responsible for the apocalyptic destruction of its capital city, Grozny.
