According to the report published in International Journal of Food Contamination, GMO crops cannot be contained. In other words, GMO crops affect normal crops.
It appears that cross-contamination between GMO crops and normal crops cannot be prevented. Based on the previously mentioned report, contamination was recorded across 63 countries. During the period between 1997 and 2013, 396 cases were documented.
In general, conclusions made about GMO are far from positive. It can be concluded that GMO contamination is unavoidable. It will continue to happen, while contamination which already happened cannot be stopped.
Moreover, the procedure which determines which plant is infected does not exist. This makes the issue even more serious.
