Ayman al-Zawahiri is the leader of the terrorist group. He became the head of Al-Qaeda when Osama bin Laden stepped down from this position. In his latest speech, he addressed the leader of ISIS.
ISIS top leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was blamed for sedition. Ayman al-Zawahiri also added ISIS top leader is not the leader of all Muslims.
Former National Counterterrorism Center Director Matthew Olsen concluded that such message proves that the differences between Al- Qaeda leadership and ISIS are irreconcilable.
He also added that American counterterrorism operatives could use this division into their advantage. As two terrorist forces are now against each other, the U.S. may be able to exploit it.
Al-Qaeda is responsible for 9/11 attacks on the U.S, when almost 3,000 Americans were killed.
