Mount Calbuco in Chile is considered one of the most dangerous volcanoes. Its last eruption happened on April 22, 2015.
However, people are worried about the possible eruption of a super volcano in Yellowstone Park. Geologists discovered an underground magma reservoir below the park, which covers the majority of the park.
The finding of this reservoir of 46,000 cubic kilometers has been disclosed in the journal Science Express.
It spreads over 12 to 28 miles under the park. This finding serves to define the status of this newly discovered threat. This reservoir is located under the previously-known shallow upper crustal magma reservoir beneath the Yellowstone caldera.
According to seismologist Jamie Farrell, this new seismic image will explain how every feature of this volcano works. Volcanic hot spots are formed by heated mantle which melts the overlying rocks. The Yewllowstone’s super volcano is one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world.
All this serves to prove that even though the Yewllowstone’s super volcano is currently sleeping, it is still alive.
The Yewllowstone’s super volcano seems to be active on every 660,000 years. It is unknown if we will observe another volcanic activity.
Apparently Yewllowstone’s super volcano is considered to be a ticking bomb.
