The Lancet is a prestigious medical journal and its current editor-in-chief, Dr. Richard Horton, warns about a serious problem.
Dr. Richard Horton suspects that most of published scientific papers within the last couple of years are untrustworthy or even false.
The situation is alarming because those the same studies serve as a foundation for the education of new generations, for the development of drugs and many other serious purposes.
When a scientific paper is published in a respected journal, usually that is enough for the paper to be considered trustworthy. As it turns out, that can be misleading.
While some excellent studies end up dismissed because of the lack of reviews by competent individuals, other, fabricated studies get the label “credible”. This is exactly how “credible” medical journals lose the respect they previously enjoyed.
Unfortunately, as Dr. Marcia Angell, a physician and editor-in-chief of the respected New England Medical Journal (NEMJ) explains, a published clinical research today does not guarantee the quality of published work.
These are not just empty words and accusations going around in academic circles. There is evidence that proves the presence of fraud. For example, Lucija Tomljenovic, PhD, from the Neural Dynamics Research Group in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of British Columbia, collected evidence that many pharmaceutical and other companies from this branch, ignored existing information about the negative effects of vaccines, concealing them from the public.
The case that Lucija Tomljenovic brought to our attention is not the only one. Sadly, the examples are numerous. This is why it is very important that as many people as possible be aware of that. Think about it whenever you go to buy some medical product, because that product was developed based on these studies.
Sure, not everyone will take these warnings seriously. Some of them will simply deny them and decide not to believe in facts. However, if someone choose to open his eyes for the truth, no matter how the truth sounds, revelations will be amazing.
