The Legend of Goatman: A goat-human monster

A weird looking creature that is half human and half goat is believed to exist somewhere in America. On numerous occasions, people have reported seeing the Goatman.

Goatman is one of the most persistent urban legends in the United States, dating back to the 1950s, and new eyewitness accounts may suggest that the monster might be real!

A creature that sure looks like a weird goat-human hybrid has been spotted roaming around Texas, Wisconsin and Kentucky. Could it be him?

There is still no tangible proof that Goatman exists, just eyewitness accounts and decades of horrifying stories that may or may not have actually happened, which is all detailed in an informative video from the Strange Mysteries Channel on Youtube.

But with alleged recent sightings in his usual stomping grounds, it’s got the internet a flurry with fear and wonder.

One eyewitness account from Louisville, KY, where the creature is colloquially nicknamed “The Pope Lick Monster,” describes him as such: “A large humanoid creature with furry, goat-like legs, alabaster skin, wide-set eyes, and horns that protrude from greasy fur.”

Indeed, Goatman is one freaky sight to behold. He walks upright on two legs, clumping around on his cloven hooves and terrorizing anyone unfortunate to come across him. The tale of Goatman started with an alleged sighting in 1957, and people have kept a close eye out for him ever since.

With good reason; in 1962, Goatman allegedly slaughtered 14 hikers after they went too close to his lair. “He chopped his victims to pieces, while ’emitting screams that only the devil himself would make,” the video’s curator stated.

The anatomy of Goatman is fascinating. As the legend goes, he was reportedly part of a DNA experiment gone horribly wrong at a US agricultural facility, conducted by a man named Stephen Fletcher; he mixed the DNA of his assistant with that of a goat — really bad idea, dude! Others maintain Goatman is just the work of the devil. Whatever the story, this is not someone we want to run into in the dark!
