A 50 year old briefing memo became public on Wednesday. The declassified document revealed new pieces of information in connection with the death of President John F. Kennedy.
According to this document, it was revealed that three days after the murder, assassin Lee Harvey Oswald traveled to Mexico City. He visited both Cuban and Soviet embassies on September 28, 1963.
The purpose of his visit was to obtain a visa to travel to the USSR via Havana. According to the memo, Oswald returned to the U.S. on October 3.
President Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963 in Dallas.
Oswald was accused of killing the president, but he denied it. Jack Ruby killed Oswald two days later.
